Dervish Dance
We were invited by our friends from Les Arts Turcs to see Dervish Dance. It’s a beautiful ritual where one hand raises to connect with God and the other hand directed towards all beings. I think since it requires mindfulness, concentration and relaxation is a way to meditate on single pointed attention thus calming and settling the mind. If done with the understanding of egolessness, letting go of self grasping, it can lead to a deeper wisdom meditation.
Quinn made their first website 15 years ago, the two brothers directors of the organization, received him with so much love. It’s a great place to learn about interesting events, learn Turkish cooking, dancing, music, painting, etc, and also for buying art, tiles, photographs, clothing, and more. We had a great time as you can see in these photos.
We also had a workshop on Turkish Paper marbling which was so fun and creative.
